Abstract: At the present stage of the development of the world economy, ecology and economics are increasingly closely linked. In order to achieve priorities in the field of environmental protection and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the vector of development of the world economy is also changing in favor of greening. The article reveals the place, role and main activities of the concepts of sustainable development, green economy and circular economy (closed-loop economy). The paper shows that it is the concept of sustainable development that forms the main idea of modern economics and greening of industry and includes all important areas of a more practical nature. For example, the idea of a green economy reflects the belief that major changes in improving the state of nature and reducing environmental impact can be achieved through fundamental changes in the methods of implementing economic processes. The popular model of the circular economy today is also considered as one of the practical implementations of the green economy concept aimed at creating closed production cycles.
