Abstract:
The article presents recommendations for protecting urban green spaces against invasive harmful organisms. Using the city of Sochi as a case study, it analyzes systemic limitations on phytosanitary measures resulting from legislative bans on the use of chemical plant protection products in water protection zones and specially protected natural areas. Environmental risks associated with the use of plant protection products in a humid subtropical climate have been identified. An integrated protection system has been proposed, featuring a priority on biological methods, the establishment of buffer zones around specially protected natural areas, the implementation of GIS monitoring, and an interagency coordination protocol.
